"Every time you drench your sheep with a triple combination drench like Hat-Trick, you fight resistance by killing more resistant worms in your sheep," says animal health company Ancare. "Fewer survivors mean fewer eggs from resistant worms to contaminate your pasture after drenching. This can greatly slow resistance development, clean out your sheep and allow them to focus on production."
Hat-Trick is produced by Ancare, and this is one of the 30 brands you can come along to meet representatives from and learn more about at the Goulburn Produce & Rural Supplies trade day on Friday, June 14. On from 10am to 4pm, you'll also find a free barbecue lunch, free tea and coffee, prize giveaways, and a store-wide discount of up to 15 per cent on the day.
Goulburn Produce's manager Kathryn Pengilley said it was a great chance for people to ask these suppliers questions, get some tips and advice about using their products, as well as pick up some great end-of-financial-year deals.

As a local family, the owners of Goulburn Produce & Rural Supplies have expanded from local farmers into a large and multi-faceted farm and building company. "Goulburn Produce & Rural Supplies has been trading since 1983 when we purchased the PDS rural supply building where we started selling stock feed, mainly off the family farm and then expanded into animal health," said Mrs Pengilley, the family member managing the store for the past 18 months.
"We are a locally owned, family business that has been in the area since 1963 on our 3400ha farm and in business for over 30 years. We have been through drought, floods and good times both on the farm and in the business, and we know and understand what our local farmers go through."
As for the store, they outgrew the original site and moved into the old railway workshops in 1988. Further expansion then saw them adding Mitre 10 and Goulpro Power, and "also now our Polaris and tractor dealership with full workshop facilities," Mrs Pengilley said.
More recently the company purchased the Home Timber and Hardware business, and along with that decided to move Mitre 10 over to that site to allow Goulburn Produce & Rural Supplies to focus its attention once again on core products and services.
"By moving Mitre 10 out of our premises [at Goulburn Produce and Rural Supplies], we've been able to go back to our rural roots expanding our rural range and making the store a more attractive and visit-able place, concentrating on our rural customers," Mrs Pengilley explained. "We have also expanded our staff knowledge base with more agronomists and more animal health advisers, all with a great range and depth of knowledge, adding up to a collective of over 170 years of experience."
