This game was one of the toughest tests so far for the improving Barbarians team, against an experienced and well-drilled side in St Edmunds.
The Barbarians started the game extremely well with some good teamwork leading up to Bryce Carey scoring the first try for the day. Dart and Sam Glover were also spoiling well at the breakdown.
St Eddies fought back scoring a couple of good team tries to take the lead into the half time break.
Barbarians came out in the second half with a bit more vigour than in the first half, with some great tackles from Jonah and Bryce.
Darcy Cooper, and Tyrese and Hayden Collings had some great runs with Hayden scoring the second try for the Barbarians.
St Eddies are a highly-disciplined side and consolidated their lead in the second half while the Barbarians were very competitive throughout the game.
The Barbarians just lacked urgency at the breakdown throughout parts of the game.
Overall, it was another great team effort, especially considering the guys have only played six games together and not had many more training sessions.
This Saturday, June 29, the Goulburn and Yass Barbarians will take on Daramalan College from 10.30am at Daramalan College.
