Goulburn's popular river walkway will be home to a brilliant new sculpture by the end of this week. Shaped out of weathering steel, David Ball's 'Fracture' is over four metres high and will present an impressive piece that will create wonder and awe for all users of the walkway.
'Fracture' is one of a series of monumental works by Ball, the second of which ('Orb') won the 2017 Sculpture by the Sea major prize.
Ball's work is of a universal nature, and its interpretation is open to the viewer.
It will be installed by the Wollondilly River Walkway, to the east of Gibson Street on a beautiful grassy reserve, and will be a great feature of this community space.
RU6 Planning Proposal exhibition extension
Goulburn Mulwaree Council has extended the public exhibition period for a Planning Proposal which proposes to include the RU6 Transition zone under Goulburn Mulwaree Local Environmental Plan (GM LEP) 2009 within the provisions of Clauses 4.1AA (Community Title Subdivision) and 4.2B (Strata Title Subdivision) in relation to the application of minimum allotment sizes.
The public exhibition will now run through until 5pm on Monday August 5.
We are allowing another full month of public exhibition to ensure we hear from those landholders and community members who would like to have a conversation or provide written input.
Our Strategic Planning team are happy to also have face to face discussions, and can be contacted via 4823 4444 to book a time.
The Planning Proposal, along with the Gateway Determination, is available to view at the Civic Centre or the Goulburn Mulwaree Library. The documents are also available to view on the council's website under the public exhibition page.
Community Information Database
This week I'd like to remind our wonderful community groups and clubs about the Community Information Database.
It's important that when a new committee is elected at your AGM you inform the council so we can update this database.
This enables us to ensure we are able to direct enquiries to the appropriate person within the group or club.
The community information database is also available to view online. You can find it by going to the council's website and finding it through the Community menu.
