NSW Farmers Goulburn branch has presented a scholarship cheque to Lauren MacDonald, a third-year medical student in training at ANU Rural Medical School Campus in Goulburn. We were delighted to hear from students and their lecturers about why they wish to become rural doctors. It is encouraging to see their enthusiasm and professional approach. Farmers and rural communities depend on skilled doctors and allied health professionals and we are pleased to assist this.

The NSW Farmers annual conference in Sydney will have six local delegates: Margaret Cameron, Geoff Henderson, Stan Moore, Alix Turner, Ron and Nerida Cullen, and Robyn Alders. Delegates from around the state gather every July to debate motions that determine future Association policy. Members can access these motions through the NSW Farmers website. If you have any points you would like raised, call RSM Dave Banham or one of the delegates.
Saddened by news of John Divall's recent passing, our thoughts are with all his family. John had successful farming businesses for many years and it's good that Andy and family continue that commitment to agriculture and local food and fibre production.
Our branch welcomes swift action by the Coalition to protect farmers by introducing the Criminal Code Amendment (Agricultural Protection) Bill making it a criminal offence to incite trespass, property damage or theft on agricultural land.
