Goulburn Family & Cosmetic Dental Practice
2019 AWARDS:
- Winner, Young Entrepreneur
- Finalist, Small Business
Husband and wife team, Doctors Chintan Trivedi and Hema Joshi from Goulburn Family & Cosmetic Dental Practice had great success at the recent business awards, winning the Young Entrepreneur category.
They were also a finalist for the Small Business category. The dental practice is one of the longest running in Goulburn, having served the community for more than 40 years. Dr Trivedi and Dr Joshi took it over from Dr Short when he retired in September 2014.
The couple said the recognition at the awards encouraged them to continue to excel. "It is a recognition of the hard work that goes into creating a practice where 90 per cent of our clientele is referred by friends and family," Dr Trivedi said.

The business has been growing significantly since 2014, when it was a single chair practice. "Now we are extending," Dr Trivedi said. "This development is expected to finish by November 2019 will house a state-of-the-art practice providing comprehensive treatment under one roof."
As part of their vision, the doctors wanted to create a dental practice where they could provide the highest standard of services under one roof, "alleviating the need for local residents of Goulburn and Surrounds to have to travel long distances and wait for months for their appointments," Dr Trivedi said.
The team now consists of three dentists, six auxiliary staff and is also growing. "I strongly believe that I cannot do anything without our great team," Dr Trivedi said. "It is not just a personal win but also my team's reward to get this award.
"We have very high standards of service and to achieve that we put a lot of effort into continuing to train our team as well as our own personal development, we have the latest equipment present in dentistry at this time and a highly qualified staff to get the best from it."
The secret to their success was hard work and giving as much as possible to whatever they do. "Myself and Hema both come from families where we have been taught these values," Dr Trivedi said.
"For us patients are not a number, we treat everyone as we would like to be treated and we offer services to our clients as we would offer to our family and friends."
Dr Trivedi said there were lots of people he wanted to thank. "Firstly, I won the award, but I think it should have been myself and Hema together, as she has done as much of the hard work as I have done," he said. "Maybe more as she had to tolerate an impatient husband along the way, (I am always wanting to buy new equipment and can't resist).
"Secondly, my team, without them this would not have been possible and my lovely patients/clients who came back to us after Dr Short retired, supported us and referred their friends and family to us."
