This year marked the first time that the club held a Ladies' Day fundraiser, and it was in support of the Goulburn and District Breast Cancer Support Group.
The donation, group member and co-organiser of the fundraiser Gloria Watchirs said, would play a critical role in supporting locals.
"All this money goes to our support group," Watchirs said.
"The money goes to oncology, the wig library and to [Can] Assist, all for local ladies. And it's all kept local, so any time that they need help, we've got some in our funds that we can help people with."
Having been involved with the support group for more than 15 years since her breast cancer diagnosis, Watchirs said that she "wouldn't have survived" without the support of the group.
The fundraiser was held during the Goulburn Bulldogs' round 14 clash against the Woden Valley Rams on July 20.
Ahead of the encounter, Northey said that the club was expecting a few hundred dollars, so to receive over $1,000 blew her away.
"Basically all we wanted to do was cover the costs of what we put into it," she said.
"We totally exceeded our expectations, the support on the day was phenomenal.
"People were just giving us money, donations, left, right and centre. I think that came down to the organisation, because it was so appealing and everyone wanted to come in and enjoy it."
Northey confirmed that the club will be looking to make the fundraiser an annual fixture in years to come.
"We'd love to make it an annual event," she said.
"It'd always be at one of our home games through the football season. We'd love to make it bigger and better
"Our girls within the club are so willing to get involved as well."
Northey singled out the efforts of Rachel Woodman, who she said "baked for two full days" in order to prepare a sumptuous variety of cakes and other baked goodies for spectators to enjoy.
The club and support group also thanked the sponsors who threw their support behind the fundraiser, including:
- Trappers Bakery
- Goulburn Workers Club
- Woolworths
- Zambreros
- Crust Pizza
- Binda Soy Candles
- Optimum Health Solutions
- BM Fitness
- F45 Fitness
- Ally & Co Hairdressing
