Dr Ruth Edwards tells us that the Goldsmith Street Surgery site has been one form of family medical practice or another for about the past 40 years.
Her family have owned and run the general practice there since 2003, and prior to this it was owned by GP Dr Chris Harmon, and by obstetrician Dr Docker.
It is located in Goulburn's heritage zone. Prior to becoming a medical practice it was used as a private residence. It's actually one of the original bluestone buildings of Goulburn and was built in 1860.

The practice has a female and a male GP, both of whom are very fluent in English as well as other languages, which can be very helpful.
Dr Nidhi Jindal is the female GP, and she is fluent in English, Hindi and Punjabi.
Dr Jindal has worked in a number of rural and regional hospitals and practices in Australia, and "as a GP she has a wholistic approach, with an interest in children's health, mental health, diabetes, women's health, pap smears and breast checks, men's health, and ATSI health," said Dr Edwards.
Their male GP is Dr Najah Jaafar, who is also fluent in English, Arabic, Persian, Kurdish and Indonesian.
In addition to being able to provide everything you need from a GP, Dr Jaafar also has a special interest in skin cancer checks, men's health, families and children's health, mental health, pre-employment health, and can perform minor procedures.
Dr Edwards describes the clinic as "small and personal, with nurses and reception getting to know and support the patients well."
The clinic can usually give people an appointment on the same day they call.
To make it really easy, they have a couple of online booking methods available as well, including directly through a handy "Book Now" button on their Facebook page.
They're open from 9am to 5pm Monday to Friday. For all eligible patients and procedures they bulk-bill, and they have wheelchair access too.
They are located at 81 Goldsmith St, Goulburn.
