A TRUCKIE who allegedly failed a sobriety test, wasn't wearing a seatbelt, had faulty brakes and a radar detector is due to face court following a heavy vehicle stop.

Traffic and Highway Patrol Command officers say an incident on the Hume Highway west of Goulburn resulted in the swag of infringements.
"About 6.58am on Wednesday August 21, a 59-year-old Victorian male drove a heavy vehicle combination north on the Hume Highway, Marulan," officers said in a statement.

"The heavy vehicle was directed into the heavy vehicle safety station at Marulan.
"The driver could not produce a work diary as required by the National Heavy Vehicle Law."
Police allege that checks revealed that the motorist's visiting driver privileges were suspended in NSW.
"During an inspection of the heavy vehicle RMS inspectors found that the brakes were defective and that the driver's seatbelt was not functional," officers said.
"A speed measuring evasion article, commonly referred to as a radar detector, was also located within the vehicle."

The driver also allegedly failed "an assessment of sobriety" and was taken to Goulburn Base Hospital for a blood test. Police await the results of the blood sample.
As a result, police and RMS Inspectors issued the following:
- Field Court Attendance Notice to appear before Goulburn Local Court on the 9th of October 2019 in relation to being an unlicensed driver.
- Penalty notices for not keeping a work diary and not complying with dimension requirements.
- A breach notice for using a vehicle with a speed measuring evasion article.
- A major defect notice for the Prime Mover.
- A direction for the driver to rest for a period of 24 hours.
