The Goulburn Lilac City Festival Garden Competition is open, so start preparing your gardens now and enter the competition, even if you can't enter the competition, make sure you plant a lilac themed coloured garden, for all the visitors to enjoy over the long weekend. Entry forms can be collected and need to be returned to the Goulburn Visitors Information Centre by September 16.
Back by popular demand is the famous Goulburn Lilac City Festival Street Parade which was everyone's highlight for many years, filling the streets with many floral floats.
We are wanting the community to get behind this as we need everyone's help to make it come back to life after a couple of year's absence, either entering a float or attending the parade to watch. If you would like an entry form to put in a float or want like to know more about the parade please contact Wendy on 0421 543 330.
We are teaming up with Take Me Home Teddies, who are donating some great prizes, to bring you this year's Colouring In Competition to be displayed at the Goulburn Community Centre, over the October long weekend. Copies of the Colouring In Competition can be picked up at the Take Me Home Teddies down stairs in the Goulburn Soldiers Club and/or Goulburn Visitors Information Centre.
The Goulburn Lilac City Festival Queen competition is back up and running, we are looking for candidates aged 18 years and over who reside in Goulburn and surround areas. The competition is a tradition and one of the most important parts of the Lilac weekend, involvement in this competition offers an opportunity to be part of and give back to the community and help your favourite local charity and win wonderful prizes. Please contact Nadia on 0417 221 102 for further information.
The Goulburn Lilac City Festival will also be holding a Lilac Memorabilia display in the Goulburn Community Centre over the long weekend. We are on the lookout for any Lilac memorabilia if you have any that you would like to loan or donated to use over the long weekend please contact Bill on 0417 272 417.
