Mick Cooper, who is a manager at PowerRail and has invented a light bulb that stays on when you turn off the switch or if there is a power outage, was the guest speaker for the evening.
We thought it would be a good idea to come up with a light that stays on.
- Mick Cooper
"If you are travelling and in the middle of nowhere and it's dark, one needs a torch etc to carry with them. We thought it would be a good idea to come up with a light which continues to stay on even when the power is out," Mr Cooper said.
"This light is unique and will stay on for four hours and it is waterproof as well.
"If the power goes out in the operating theatre during an operation, the procedure won't be interrupted as the light will continue to stay on.
"The lights can be customised according to the requirements as well."

The lights were ordered and installed by Goulburn Mulwaree Library last year.
They were ordered and fitted by the Junee railway workshop as well.
"They use them with great conviction down there," Mr Cooper said.
While the bulbs are currently being manufactured in the United States, Mr Cooper is open to the idea to setting up a unit in the city as well.
"If we get orders here, we will start manufacturing them in Goulburn," he said.
Interest in the invention is flowing in and Mr Cooper is currently talking to Coles.
"They think it's a great idea at their distribution centre and shops," he said.
He recommended installing them in places where back up power is required as the light would allow for easy access to exits in emergencies.
Giving an example of its usefulness, he said if the light in the room went off and people had to make their way to the exit door, they would be able to make their way through the furniture lying in the room safely in order to reach the exit.
"It would also be very helpful if installed as street lights. If the power went off, it would still stay on and people travelling on the road will be able to see," he said.
The light lasts for around five years and comes with a guarantee. Other pitches during the evening were made by BDCU Bank, Mission Australia and Office National, among others.
Goulburn Connect meets on the second Tuesday of the month, 5.30pm at The Collective.
