Bulldogs coach Matt Warboys said the loss made it three grand final losses in a row to the same team.

"West Belconnen have been the best team for three years and it showed as they held on to the tight game," Warboys said.

"They'll be extremely disappointed.

"It's their third year in a row losing by less than a try.

"I think they know they had opportunities to win today."

Besides a horrific opening five minutes which saw the Bulldogs concede two tries, not a lot went wrong on the day.

"They only beat us by two points," Warboys said.

"We had a couple of chances to win the game and we probably had the majority of the good ball, but it just didn't come off today.

"The gameplan was just to complete our sets.

"Against them, we have a terrible completion rate.

"The first two tries showed that if we don't complete our sets, we get punished.

"Five minutes can change the game and be the difference between winning and losing."

While the loss may be a tough pill to swallow, Warboys had nothing but praise for the girls, saying how privileged he felt to be with such a close bunch.

"The highlight of the season for mine was the great group of girls I got to experience and got to coach this year," the coach said.

"I got to know them and have become good friends with them.

"I hope they all get around each other and have a good time over the next few days.

"Hopefully they come back stronger next year and use that fuel to look for a premiership next year."

The u19s Bulldogs side also went down in their grand final, losing 26-10 to the Queanbeyan Blues.

The Bulldogs gave it their all, but the Blues dominated from the beginning and never looked troubled.
