Vital hospital equipment to Timor Leste
A shipment containing over $500,000 worth of vital hospital equipment is on its way from Goulburn to aid the community of Quelicai in Timor Leste.

The initiative is part of our Friendship City Agreement with Quelicai, an inland city of similar size to Goulburn, which came about after a suggestion from Maggie and Darryl Patterson, owners of the former St Joseph's Orphanage.
Maggie and Darryl have been the driving forces behind this project, and as a council we have appointed them as official envoys. An engineer will travel over to the region to set up the equipment in the Timor Leste hospital - the shipment includes an x-ray machine, ECG machines and more vital equipment.
It has been an enormous task to coordinate this shipment, and Maggie and Darryl should be recognised for their huge efforts as well as the initial idea to form this Friendship City Agreement.
Holcim Mayoral Charity Golf Day
We are quickly approaching the Holcim Mayoral Charity Golf Day on Friday,November 22.
The beneficiaries for 2019 are the Rotary Club of Goulburn (60 percent), Endeavour Industries (30 percent) and the Lieder Theatre (10 percent) - all wonderful community groups who will benefit immensely from the funds raised by the golf day.
We are progressing well with the plans for the day, and I'd like to put the call out to any businesses who have not been previously involved - sponsorship packages start from as low as $200, and every dollar we raise stays in our community.

Learn2Swim Week
Learn 2 Swim Week at the Goulburn Aquatic Centre will this year be held during the spring school holidays from September 30 and October 4.
During the week, free swim lessons are offered to children aged between three to five years who are not currently enrolled at the centre.
Learn2Swim Week is an annual awareness week about the importance of teaching kids aged under five to swim. It's also about reminding everyone about the importance of water safety. Worldwide, drowning is the number one cause of accidental death in children under five years of age. In Australia, one person on average, drowns every week.
All you need to do is drop into the centre and fill in a booking form to secure your child's place in the program, or email swimandfitness@goulburn.nsw.gov.au
