Goulburn Martial Arts Academy's head instructor Craig Harmer and Michael Weaver competed at the Australiasian Championships for martial arts on Saturday to Sunday, September 8-9 at the Melbourne Sports and Aquatic Centre.
In the Championships where over 400 competitors were involved, Harmer said it was a terrific effort.
We were both fairly dominant in our contests," Harmer said.
"The impressive thing was that it was Michael's first time competing at the Championship."
Harmer was even more impressive, not losing a single fight.
"I didn't get a point taken off me and won all my fights by submission," he said.
"I was very happy to find out that the drills we practiced leading up to comp worked like a training session.
"I was able to finish all my matches via submissions we had been practicing."
They were just six of the GMAA members who took part, with one who didn't compete. .
"James Fry, Liam Harris-Cave and Michael Boyd.all performed well too," Harmer said.
"James was unlucky."
Harmer is the most experienced combat sports coach in the area and is also a former Australian representative and coach for taekwondo.
