O'Connor is a true blues aficionado. He is an old time finger picking and bottleneck blues player.
His influences go back to the early roots of blues - the great blues players of the 1920s and '30s, such as Son House, Willie McTell and Blind Blake.
"I was first attracted to blues when I heard a Taj Mahal record where he mostly accompanied himself on a National metal bodied guitar," O'Connor said.
For his current release, 'I Asked For Water', O'Connor enlisted piano professor Don Hopkins, harmonica ace Jim Conway and Marcus Holden on mandolin.
It shines a light on some of Chris' favourite artists such as Tommy Johnson, Charley Patton, and Memphis Minnie. Chris will be promoting his new album and playing a variety of standard blues.
Admission is free and the concert starts at 7.30pm in the Gallery Room.
