In a bid to raise awareness on environmental issues, 'Goulburn Connects' will hold a sustainability market day on Saturday.

"This year, we are doing a smaller but compact version of our earlier events," Nicola Fraser, treasurer of The Goulburn Group (TGG) said.
"We are attaching ourselves to the Rotary markets that are on every month. We have connected with several other community groups that have focus on environmental issues and sustainability to raise awareness."
This year's theme is about connecting the various Goulburn community groups and creating a stronger network of people focused on environmental issues.
Over 20 organisations that have connections with sustainability and community including community solar farm, Goulburn's Bee Keeper club, FROGS Wetlands Land care, W.I.R.E.S, the Citizens Climate Lobby, Backyard Diversity Group will be part of the market.
Jane Suttle, the President of the Goulburn District Beekeepers Club said that their group was particularly concerned about the impact of global warming on the health and survival of bee colonies in this region.
"Goulburn Council is hosting a stall focusing on recycling, there's a small farm exhibition from Bent Shed Produce and Perrumba Farm together with small space veggie growing being showcased by the Goulburn Community Gardens and Food Forest Group," Doug Rawlinson, president of TGG, said.
"We've decided to feature all the groups associated with our sustainability platform in a community market day, in association with the monthly Goulburn Rotary Markets in Montague Street.
"The Tesla charging stations, the community owned Solar Farm project, the Backyard Biodiversity group are great examples of the community taking seriously the challenge of climate change.
"Back in 2013 we called it "climate change", but now six years later even the UK Government have declared a Climate Emergency, and we have decided it's time to raise the issue again."
Sustainability Markets will be held on Montague Street opposite Belmore Park on October 12 from 8.30am to 1pm.
Other groups participating are Riversdale, Goulburn Spider seekers, Goulburn History Group, The Goulburn Club, Goulburn Table Tennis Club, Land for Wildlife and Goulburn Field Naturalists.
The three festivals to raise awareness were held from 2013-15. The first sustainability festival featured a strong emphasis on climate change with Dr John Hewson the guest speaker at the inaugural business breakfast.
