New parking provisions around Goulburn Base Hospital will apply from Monday as construction on the $150 million development begins.

Council staff are erecting signage and permits will be distributed to households, and staff of the Hospital and Goulburn High School in coming weeks. The parking permit scheme will come into effect from October 14, however no fines will be issued throughout an introductory period from then until November 14.
"This period will allow residents, businesses and staff and the general community to get used to the new zones without fines being issues," Mayor Bob Kirk said.
"Construction of the $150m Hospital redevelopment will be a major multi-year project, and our priority is to ensure residents, staff and people visiting the hospital are able to park and access the facility safely and conveniently throughout this process."

Parking permits are being issued to residents, businesses and staff in the vicinity of Goulburn Base Hospital to avoid infringement notices being issued to relevant vehicles. Passes will be given to Goulburn Base Hospital and Goulburn High School to be distributed to the staff, however residents of the area must go to the council at 184 Bourke Street to register their vehicles for permits.
The permit allows people to park within designated zones for longer than the signposted time limit. It does not allow them to park in other parking restricted zones such as 'No Stopping,' 'No Parking,' 'Bus,' 'Loading,' or 'Disabled Parking.'
Permits must be placed on the passenger side of the front windscreen and be clearly visible. People with further questions can contact the council on 4823 4444.
A spokesman said construction contractor Hansen Yuncken would be sending further correspondence with details on the construction program to residents and affected businesses.
The provisions will be in place throughout the project. Construction is expected to be finish at the end of 2021/early 2022.
General manager Warwick Bennett said he remained concerned that the council had been left "holding the baby" with the parking infastrastructure associated with the project and that Health Infrstructure hadn't been as helpful as hoped.
The council has had input into the changes but has called for construction of a multi-storey car park in the next stage to alleviate congestion in the area.
