Floral Arts Workshop
Are you envious of everyone else's gardens and the beautiful displays they must have in their homes? Laggan's Crystal Brook Gardens and Lavender Farm is hosting the right day for you! A day for people wanting to learn floral arrangement skills where you get to take home the fruits of your labour. The day will begin with a relaxed walk in the Crystal Brook Garden to collect "what we can find" among the seasonal foliage, fruit and flowers before returning to the lovely shaded porch to make some amazing arrangements.Tickets are $80 per person. GDC&HS Spring Walk
Want to get some exercise and enjoy spring in beautiful Gunning? How about helping the Gunning District Community and Health Service raise money to purchase equipment and deliver services in the region? You can do both on Sunday, November 3, by participating in the GDH&HS Spring Walk in Gunning. Run, walk or wheel the 5km course, commencing at the Gunning Showground. Round the day off with face painting, sausage sizzle, live music, a pet parade and raffles! If you can't actively participate in the event but still want to be involved, you are most welcome to make a donation to the fundraiser. Melbourne Cup Calcutta Auction
Save the dates! Crookwell's Services Club is holding a Melbourne Cup Calcutta Auction on Sunday, November 3 at 6pm. For those of you not in the know, the Calcutta is your chance to become a 'temporary owner' of one of the horses to run in the Melbourne Cup. Come along, hear how it works and join in the fun! And then hold your breath for the main event - an action packed and delicious Melbourne Cup Luncheon on Tuesday, November 5! There will be a Fashion in the Fields competition, sweeps, mystery bids, bistro specials. Get in quick to book your table! Bistro open 12-3pm.
