"These workshops will provide an opportunity to see a droughtlot and the chance to hear about how they can work under the right circumstances," South East Local Land Services senior agriculture advisor Matthew Lieschke said.
"Pastures in the Goulburn area have dried off very quickly in the last couple of weeks with the warms days and windy conditions.
"Unfortunately the Bureau of Meteorology is predicting below average rainfall for the remainder of spring, so it's not looking too promising.
"It is important that producers are thinking about how they are going to manage the period ahead as one of the major concerns heading into summer will be the lack of carryover feed and being able to maintain adequate levels of ground cover."
Workshops will be held in Cooma on November 6, Tarago on November 7 and Bookham on November 8.
It will feature industry consultant Geoff Duddy from Sheep Solutions and provide information that will help producers in making feeding and drought management decisions.
The workshops are applicable for both sheep and beef producers and will cover all aspects of confinement feeding, advantages and disadvantages of droughtlots, how to select a suitable site, infrastructure required, managing livestock for best results, practical nutrition tips and how to minimise stock health problems.
"Restricting stock to a small part of the property is a valuable tool during drought," Mr Duddy said.

"With good planning and management, confinement feeding can work extremely well, whether it's through a sacrifice paddock or a dedicated facility such as a droughtlot".
Land managers and producers are encouraged to get in touch with the team at their nearest local land services office for any support and advice around decision making and nutritional requirements for their stock.
- Land managers and producers can visit NSW DPI's 'Drought Hub' website for information on the support, subsidies and services.
