The annual Goulburn Fight Night is the PCYC's biggest fundraiser of the year, and the 2019 event will feature a large team of local boxers taking part.
Local PCYC boxing trainer, Glenn Oag, is confident that the fighters are ready and rearing to go for their bouts.
The fight night will feature several of the PCYC's most high-profile boxers, a number of whom come into the event boasting King of the Ring titles.
Oag is looking to give these fighters a step-up in terms of the quality of their opponents.
"I'm really hoping to get an interstate opponent for young Will [Nagle]," Oag said.
"He's currently the PCYC King of the Rings champion and the NSW Under 40kg champion, so we're hoping to get a 40kg kid from Wodonga to come up.
"Then we've got Harrison [Cummins], he's had four fights and he's the King of the Rings title holder in the 69kg division, he hasn't been beaten yet."
These incremental changes in the quality of their opponents, Oag said, are crucial in developing talented boxers.
The timing of the event will also ensure that some of the young fighters who are recently returned from injury, including Harrison, have time to prepare adequately for their appearances in the ring.
"Harrison's been 12 months getting his knee back and getting his fitness back where it is," Oag said.
The PCYC is hoping to keep the card to between 20 and 24 fights, which Oag believes is the ideal number to keep patrons interested without the night dragging on.
The fundraising goal for this year, Oag said, was roughly $15,000.
"[I'm] keeping my fingers crossed that a crowd turns up and we get a bit of local support," he said.
"We're having it closer to Christmas so we can have a few companies have their Christmas parties there.
"Without the Fight Night, we've got virtually no way of raising money for the budget of the club."
There will be 12 corporate tables available for purchase on the night, along with the general admission.
Tickets begin at $30 for general admission, children under 14 are $15, and corporate tables are $700, which includes food and drink.
Tickets can be purchased at the PCYC. For more information, visit the PCYC Goulburn Facebook page.
