The bus left Goulburn at 7.30am and made lunch in the veranda town of Lockhart. As well as the verandas, members admired the icons on the footpaths depicting local stations.
On arriving in Yarrawonga Mulwala we were driven around the foreshores of Lake Mulwala and had an interesting ex-PNG tourist guide, Helen, who had now spent eight years in Australia and was able to talk on the history of the town.
On Saturday we went to the Rich Glen Olive Estate where there was over 100 products to see and taste. It was amazing how many by products were found in the complex, from chocolates to hot tasty sauces.
We were looking forward to a trip on the paddle steamer, Cumberooma, but it was too windy to sail so we found it interesting to hear how the two brothers found the derelict steamer, bought and restored her. Lunch was enjoyed on the steamer.
The bus then carried members to the Bryamine Homestead where Elizabeth Hume (sister-in-law of Hamilton Hume) made her home. It was found to be a small house full of antiques.
Then the Pioneer Heritage Museum kept its doors open so we could admire the huge collection of antiques housed there.
On Sunday morning a visit was made to the Farmers and Craft Market before going on to the Rotary Kiewa Street markets in Albury.
The bus then carried members out Holbrook for lunch at the Returned Services Club.
