'A Christmas Gift for Timor Leste' fundraiser has helped raise funds over $7,000.
"The fundraiser turned out to be bigger than anticipated and the support of the community has been wonderful. There were several things for people to buy including beautiful sewing quilts, baby wear and toys," Jan Mckinnon, one of the organisers of the event said.
"We are still receiving donations from people who want to help."
The funds will be used to repair the roof of the school and build a second toilet block on the premises among other things.
"The event was well supported by the community," Mrs Mckinnon said.

"The money will be donated to the school. There are several people who are willing to sponsor the bright students in Malimea and fund their education so that they can pursue their dreams."
The entry donation for the event held at Historic Limnis House, St Joseph's Orphanage, was $10 and included afternoon tea, a silent auction of collectible handmade quilts and other items and raffle.
In September this year, a shipment containing vital hospital equipment was shipped from Goulburn to aid the community in Timor Leste.
The initiative was a part of Goulburn's Friendship Agreement with Quelicai in Timor Leste, an inland city of about 25,000 people.
