A spokesperson for the CCL said they presented Mrs Tuckerman with 60 letters expressing urgency for action on climate change from a wide range of community members, collected at the recent Goulburn Sustainable Market Day.
"She indicated she was very conscious of the need to protect the environment and looked forward to reading the letters and replying," the Hume CCL spokesperson said.
"She spoke of the need for everyone to change what we do to adapt, especially in areas of recycling and water.
"The Hume CCL expressed their concerns with the proposed chicken processing plant consuming up to 40 per cent of Goulburn's Water supply. We suggested a water recycling plant could be incorporated into the processing plant.
"Mrs Tuckerman has already suggested this to the council, which is good news for Goulburn residents. Hume CCL will write a submission, which Mrs Tuckerman will present to the planning committee."
Other discussions focussed on community proposed projects for Water Sensitive Cities, a state policy around plastic packaging, polices for better education in recycling waste and the council's involvement in these areas completed the meeting.
"The support of Mrs Tuckerman in all these areas has been welcomed by Hume CCL. Further meetings and involvement with the State member are keenly awaited," the spokesperson said.
