In the final round of the Australian Superbike Championship at Sydney Motorsport Park from November 1 to November 3, Toparis claimed pole position on the Saturday, and followed it up with a pair of race wins to put an exclamation mark on his season.
Throughout 16 races in the 2019 season, Toparis only lost once. And in this case, 'lost' is a relative term: he came second.
That result occurred in round three, at the Bend in South Australia.
Since then, Toparis has proven essentially unbeatable, and following his final victory in Sydney, he thanked his team for the role they played in his results.
"To the end the season with another pole position and two race wins is simply an awesome way to finish up the year," Toparis said.
"This year has been amazing. Every race we have been competitive, which goes to show just good the Yamaha YZF-R6 is.
"I want to say a massive thank you to the Landbridge Racing team for their efforts this year. They have worked super hard all year."
In the race for pole position, Toparis was pushed by fellow Yamaha rider, Tom Edwards.
Edwards also performed exceedingly well during the races, and came second after Toparis in each.
"It's been good to have Tom [Edwards] here this weekend, as he rode so well over the course of the weekend and considering the hot conditions we have had over the past days," he said.
The top five positions in Sydney were rounded out by Jack Passfield (34 points), Broc Pearson (32 points), and Jack Hyde (30 points).
Although he had already done enough to claim victory in the ASBK Supersport division after round six, Toparis' double in Sydney propelled him to a total of 401 points, 123 points ahead of Pearson in second.
Such a massive margin of victory underlined Toparis' dominance this season, and bodes well for the 19-year-old's goal of racing in Europe next year.
Toparis was joined in the post-race celebrations by fellow Goulburnian, Troy Herfoss. Herfoss was pipped at the post by Mike Jones in the Superbike division, having led after round six by a margin of three points.
