Every market day is different, but expect the unexpected. There is always that delicious sense of anticipation: will those artistic geniuses with their rusty wire crafted into unique masterpieces be there again? Will Belinda from Foley Farm have her make-your-own beeswax eco food wrap kits? And how about all those irresistible local olives, oil, honey, jams, jellies, pickles and cakes?
It's all happening this Saturday, November 16. If you can't make the November markets - don't panic - there's another chance to shop local at Laggan this year, on Saturday, December 14.

Vintage Farm Machinery Field Days, Taralga
In the good old days, machinery and vehicles were not just made to be functional, they had to look good too. There was a time when great pride was taken in engineering and workmanship. A mechanical device was a source of inspiration, a statement of advanced technology and innovation.
Things were made to last a lifetime or more. Gleaming brass and high quality steel, finest timber cladding, immaculate enamel paintwork. It would have been unthinkable to use cheap and shoddy, disposable plastics or flimsy materials.
You can get an idea of what it was like at the Taralga Vintage Farm Machinery Field Days this weekend, when enthusiasts gather from far and wide to showcase their lovingly restored mechanical marvels. You will be simply amazed at the diversity and ingenuity of the machinery on display, which includes vintage trucks, tractors, cars, small motors, steam engines, stationary engines and more. You will be inspired by the dedication and passion of their owners.
But beware, you may catch the bug yourself and end up obsessively scouring the country for old machines, spare parts and spending hours in your shed fixing, mending and restoring! Venue: Taralga Showground. Admittance: adults $10, children under 16 free. Further information: (02) 4840 2139.
