Scheduled as closely as possible to November 20, to coincide with the track's actual opening date, Wakefield has lined up an exciting weekend of racing, sports, and touring cars from the 1990s.
Track manager, Dean Chapman, expressed his excitement about the event and thanked the Historic Sports and Racing Car Association and the Golden Era Auto Racing clubs for their support during the anniversary celebrations.
"HSRCA organised the very first meeting at Wakefield Park, while GEAR evolved from Paul Samuels' desire to have mid-week events for owners of historic cars to drive around the venue," Chapman said.
"Both these clubs have maintained a line of communication with many of the competitors and officials who were there at Wakefield Park for the very first race meeting in 1994, and they have played a vital role in reaching out to these people and ensuring we have a level of support fitting of such a momentous occasion.
"Their impact has been huge, we've provided the venue and they've provided the support around it. It's been an absolute pleasure to work with them, without their help the event wouldn't have been as spectacular as it will be. They're the real backbone of the event."
Along with historic racing cars from 1994, Chapman said that there will be a number of drivers who competed at the inaugural event in attendance.
"We've got 10 original people that competed back in 1994 competing again this weekend," he said.
"They'll be joined by people displaying their cars from 1994 and enjoying the atmosphere."
Along with being a celebration of the track's history, the event, Chapman said, is a thank you to the public and local businesses who have consistently supported Wakefield Park for the last 25 years.
For that reason, entry this weekend is free.
"I'm very excited, I'm very proud to be involved with what will be a very memorable weekend and a highlight in Wakefield Park's history," he said.
"I'd just like to thank the whole Goulburn area for its support over the last 25 years, whether it's been as a spectator or a local business helping out. We'd like to say thank you, and that's why there is no charge for tickets."
Along with the on-track events, there will also be a function held on Friday night, to officially kick off the event which will run from November 15 to 17.
Tickets to the dinner can still be purchased by visiting the Wakefield Park website at wakefieldpark.com.au.
