Vice president of the Southern NSW RPG of the Welsh Pony and Cob Society of Australia Inc Michelle Styles, which hosted the event, said the day was amazing.
"We were able to run our Little Red Dragon ring which was held specifically for children under 18 and was part of our celebrations for the 50th Anniversary of the Welsh Pony Cob Society of Australia," Styles said.
"All classes were well supported with a broad range of breeds, open horses and harness ponies."
Over 70 people aged as young as three and some older than 60 took part, but there may have been more.
"With the fires also, we may have lost a few entries on the day," Styles said.
Styles said it was great to see so many well looked after ponies and was a great chance to prepare for a massive show coming up.
As this was a medal show for the Welsh pony breed, competitors, breeders and the like came along to show off their beautiful ponies," Styles said.
"With the International Welsh Show just around the corner, this gives these ponies the opportunity to step out prior to one of the biggest breed shows in Australia."
The Pony Classic Show acted as the qualifier for next year's Champion of Champions Final and the Australian Welsh and Part Welsh Ridden Championship.
