Fifty years ago, Rhonda Craig set foot into Crookwell Hospital as a nurse before moving to Goulburn Base Hospital.

On Friday, November 15, more than 30 people came together to celebrate her retirement.

"It's been a good place to work," Ms Craig said. "I've made good friends and have no regrets."

The main thing she would miss was the people she worked with, she said. "I'm going to miss all my colleagues and there are plenty of them as I have worked in every area of the hospital," she said.

She had been a mentor to many including acting director of nursing and midwifery Cheryl Tozer, who had only praise about her.

"She is an amazing nurse," Ms Tozer said. "She trained me back in the '80s and she hasn't changed one bit."

What's next for Ms Craig?

"I'm looking forward to spending more time with my grandchildren," she said.

"I'll go on a couple of trips, but it's hard to find time as I live on a farm."

Rhonda Craig has undoubtedly touched many hearts during her time at Goulburn Base Hospital.
