In a statement, Southern NSW Local Health District (SNSWLHD) Northern Cluster General Manager Denis Thomas said the pedestrian footpath on the Goulburn Base Hospital side of Faithfull Street will be closed for approximately one week from Monday November 18 to create two new access driveways for the redevelopment.
The footpath will be diverted with the use of barriers to ensure pedestrian safety is maintained at all times.
"Those accessing our Child and Family, Community and Mental Health services during business hours will be impacted most by the pedestrian access changes. Signage will be clearly displayed to direct alternative pedestrian routes." Mr Thomas said.
People needing to access the hospital can continue to do so via the main entrance off Goldsmith Street, with accessible parking spaces available at the main entrance.
Mr Thomas said the SNSWLHD priority is to ensure patients, carers, visitors, staff and the community are kept safe while these works are ongoing.
The $150 million Goulburn Hospital and Health Service Redevelopment includes a four- storey Clinical Services Building with a new emergency department, medical imaging and an intensive care unit.
