RDA Southern Inland is part of the Goulburn Regional Innovation Network (GRIN). Still in its infancy, our hope is to uncover and support start-ups as well as existing businesses in the region.
Small businesses are key to jobs growth and development in regional areas and we want to support new businesses and local innovation as much as possible.
We believe there is plenty of undiscovered start-up talent in our region. So we are hosting Goulburn's second-ever Pitch Fest at The Collective Goulburn, December 3, from 5.30pm.
The event gives individuals, current business owners or entrepreneurs the opportunity to pitch their business idea to an expert panel and seek support in the form of financial assistance, mentoring, collaboration and more.
Think of it as Goulburn's version of Channel 10's Shark Tank. We want to encourage a new way of thinking for local business and ensure that they have the support to achieve their ideas.
We need to embrace changes in technology (which will likely affect a number of jobs), adapt and innovate.
Start-ups can be established in any town, city or home in Australia, thanks to technology. This means that the next generation of start-ups can be found anywhere and can grow to become global.
New start-ups will lead to new local jobs and will help to boost the local economy.
