Organiser Dot Dewsbury was "really amazed" by the amount of local support that Tablelands Tuff E Nuff received over the course of its inaugural Ten Head Breakaway Roping competition on the weekend.

The competition, Dewsbury said, was "a total success".
"Everyone had a great weekend, I've had lots of positive feedback. Everyone's coming again next year."
The event welcomed roughly 65 riders to Gouburn, which was far beyond what Dewsbury had expected for the club's first event.
Following the sterling turnout on the weekend, Dewsbury is confident that the event will grow in future years.
"What we got was more than we expected. I think it was a good number in case there were any hiccups, but I think next year it will only get bigger," she said.
"It was a relaxed environment and the weather held, overall it was a big success."
Along with the strong competitor numbers, the event was attended by a good number of spectators as well.
"We had lots of people floating in and out throughout the day, we had a lot of local rodeo people and families come," Dewsbury said.
"It was really nice, because people who don't necessarily compete in that event, they jumped in and gave us a hand getting cattle up."
This community spirit stuck with Dewsbury, and she thanked everyone who threw their support behind the event.
"It was really unimaginable the amount of help we got on the day," she said. "The rodeo community jumped on board and helped out.
"We had so many people who don't even compete in the sport come and help, it was fantastic.
"The Riding for the Disabled ladies came in and ran our canteen, they had lovely meals and food and kept everyone fed all weekend."
Aside from a small error with the locks on the gate, the event ran smoothly and Dewsbury said they would not change anything for next year's event.
"I just wanted to give a really good impression, so girls will go home and talk about it," she said.
"It ran smoothly, and one of the girls from Tamworth, who has been to a fair few competitions, she said it was the best breakaway competition she's been to in the country."
The cattle, Dewsbury said, were "sensational", and in extremely good condition despite the recent heat and bushfires.
"They were all in excellent condition, well looked after, they were all broke," she said.
"The girls were really happy, because no-one wants to draw something that hasn't been roped."
Dewsbury thanked the event sponsors for their support, and her fellow committee members, Jodie Rigby and Emma Peters.
