Retired NRL star Sam Burgess has pleaded not guilty to intimidating his father-in-law Mitchell Hooke.

Mr Burgess did not appear in Moss Vale Local Court on Wednesday but his lawyer Bryan Wrench put in the plea on his behalf.
Police charged Mr Burgess following an alleged incident at Mr Hooke's Glenquarry home in October, and Mr Hooke filed for an apprehended violence order (AVO) against his son-in-law.
Mr Burgess' lawyer asked Magistrate Ian Cheetham for a three-hour hearing date.
Mr Wrench said there was further material his team was seeking to file.
"He wishes to fight this... he has no criminal record," Mr Wrench said.
Mr Burgess is subject to an interim AVO and can't go within 1000 metres of Mr Hooke or his home.
A hearing date has been set for June 26, 2020.
