For god's sake, this is NOT the Olympic games when you expect records to be broken. And now when I look out the window I cannot even see the sun at 5 o'clock in the evening because of the choking smoke.
Even John Howard back in 2006 started to listen to the experts who had studied the climate for years and changed his mind on climate change.

Rudd squibbed. Abbott ground down all those wanting to act, including in his own party, and Morrison went AWOL leaving it to the massively incompetent McCormack. Only Gillard really tried to do something and that was because she needed the Greens to govern. Abbott made sure she didn't succeed with his ridiculous lies.
This is a disgrace and I am angry. Angry at the politicians who have absented themselves and only now are making soft noises about carbon because the smoke has shamed them. And angry at all those voters who continue to elect these incompetent politicians who simply turn a blind eye.
Praying is not enough, Mr Morrison. It hasn't done anything to stop the fires, bring rain, or help the firies. Telling us it's not the time to talk about climate change when your party never seems to want to talk about it is no answer. And pathetic photo ops from Angus Taylor in a hard hat won't cut it any longer.
We all need to wake up.
