The Green Wattle Creek bush fire has forced several roads in the Upper Lachlan to close to anyone but locals on Tuesday afternoon.

Firefighters are focusing on property and asset protection today, limiting the spread of fire and securing containment lines.
The roads have been closed to allow back burning, NSW RFS Operational Officer of the Southern Tablelands Zone, Lachlan Gilchrist, said.
Roads closed on Tuesday afternoon include:
- Wombeyan Caves Road
- Bannaby Road
- New Foundland Road
- Mares Forest Road
- Hanworth Road
- Adavale Road
- Brayton Road (parts of)
The fire has now burnt about 270,000 hectares in the Upper Lachlan, Wollondilly, Wingecarribee and Oberon council areas since November 26.
It has a perimeter of more than 1000 kilometres and is not contained.

Motorists are requested to avoid entering fire affected towns. Firefighting vehicles are still patrolling and monitoring hotspots and outbreaks of new fires.
Advice for all Residents
Check and follow your Bush Fire Survival Plan. If you do not have a plan, decide what you will do if the situation changes and be ready to act promptly. For your survival, residents are advised that leaving early is the only safe option. If your plan is to leave you should leave immediately.
Only notify Triple Zero '000' in the case of an active fire without firefighters in attendance.
