Two timber roof beams spanning the indoor pool at the Goulburn Aquatic Centre failed following heavy snowfall in September last year.
This prompted immediate closure of the pool with temporary support struts put in place.
"I am sure the community is looking forward to having the indoor pool open and available for use again soon. We had a slight delay with the delivery of the beams due to the holiday period, but I'm pleased that the facility will be up and running soon, and available for use as the weather cools down over the coming months," Mayor Bob Kirk said.
Repair works were quoted at $157,420, and a claim for this to be covered is being lodged to Council's insurance company.
At the Goulburn Mulwaree Council's meeting held in December last year, the status report of the indoor pool was submitted.
"The Council expects the indoor pool to be reopened in late January, providing no issues arise throughout the repairs.
The report stated that a short-term solution is being looked at keeping in mind that the pool building will be demolished to begin with the redevelopment work in the next 12 months.
The temporary supporting struts, costing $3,200 a week, were hired.
The pool is expected to reopen by the end of this month, providing no issues arise throughout the repairs.
Council has engaged ARW Multigroup to carry out the repair works.
