Owners Billy Darwich and Taj Hijazi, who came from Sydney, always had a dream of opening their own eatery someday.
"Goulburn helped us turn our dream into reality, Mr Darwich said. "It was a bit of passion for food and coffee that motivated us to open this place. Once the opportunity of opening a restaurant here presented itself, we took it.
"We have been getting a lot of positive feedback from the community, which is heartwarming, especially on social media."
While Mr Darwich relocated to Goulburn from Sydney last year, Mr Hijazi has been living in the city for the past three. "I came here to work and found the community extremely welcoming and decided to relocate," he said.
They were joined by Goulburn local Jess Wyles and opened Cedar's Diner on December 23 last year. With more and more people opting to live and work in Goulburn, it was a good opportunity for them to open the restaurant here.
"Five years ago, it wasn't like that," Ms Wyles said. "Now, Goulburn is a multicultural place. It's good to see that. Lots of people now choose to move here, buy their houses here and travel to other cities for work as it is expensive to live there."
The owners have given the menu a special touch with signature burgers called 'Chilly Billy' and 'Taj Mexicana'.
Already a regular at the restaurant, local duty commander Bruce Dawling from Fire and Rescue shared his experience. "The food here is great and I like visiting the place and enjoying the hospitality," he said.
