He faces two charges of common assault and assaulting a law officer (not police officer) on March 3, 2019 and will front a hearing in person in Goulburn Court on May 11.
The alleged assaults were part of what Corrective Services officers claimed were a string of attacks in the Supermax and Goulburn Jail in the same week.
They led to more than 200 Corrective Services officers walking off the job days later.
The Post reported at the time that two staff members were attacked in the Supermax on March 3 and that one officer needed eight stitches above his eye.
Prison staff were unhappy with how Corrective Services managed incidents of staff assault, particularly following the quashing of Supermax inmate Bassam Hamzy's 20-month sentence for attacking a prison officer in 2017.
In Goulburn Local Court on January 21, Al-Ahmadzai's solicitor said there was no footage of the attack of which his client was accused.
His client did, however, have a witness who would testify at the hearing.
The witness, another inmate, would require an Arabic translator for the hearing, the solicitor said.
Al-Ahmadzai has also pleaded not guilty to the common assault charge.
