Local businesses and panelists will soon come together to discuss sustainable operations at The Path to Circular Economy conference in Goulburn.

"The conference will explore how we can get the best value out of our materials, particularly from a business perspective, which in turn can lead to innovation, growth and job creation. Reusing resources and materials makes good business sense," Camilla Staff, project officer, RDASI said.
"I attended the conference held in Gosford late last year. It triggered the idea to hold a similar conference in Goulburn.
"The conference will help to promote the benefits of a circular economy and provide examples of organisations engaging in circular economy practices.
"At the moment, we living in a linear economy, where we use what we want and then discard it. Circular economy looks at the reuse and recycling aspect and can be incorporated into a number of businesses.
"We have found few local businesses and speakers in Goulburn who will tell us about their practices. It will help promote circular economy and spark interests in attendees that come along."

Keynote speaker for the event will be NSW Circular director, UNSW Professor Veena Sahajwall.
Panelists for the event are Olympia Yargar, founder and CEO of Goterra, Steven Richards, managing director of Industry Waste Recovery, Henry Gundry, manager at Woodlawn Bio Reactor, Michael Claessens from Regional Development Australia ACT, Graham Knowles from iQrenew and Geoff Pryor from Southern Region Business Enterprise Centre.
Supported by NSW Circular, Advanced Manufacturing Growth Centre (AMGC) in collaboration with RDA Southern Inland (RDASI), Regional Development Australia ACT (RDA ACT) and the Canberra Region Joint Organisation (CRJO) will be organising The Path to a Circular Economy forum for 2020.
The event will be held on February 26 at Goulburn Workers Club.
