A range of artists will play to raise money for the NSW Rural Fire Service and Wildcare Queanbeyan. World renowned and award-winning Australian blues and roots songwriter, singer and slide guitarist Jeff Lang is headlining the gig.
In support will be outstanding blues and roots artists including Ben Chackravorty, Blue Cheese Rats, Blues Resurrection, Bo, Den Hanrahan, Kopasetic, Kristabelle & The Southern Jubilee Ringers, Los Chavos, Newsletters, Rhythm Aces, Rockafellas, The Fuelers and The Might Resonators.
In addition to the amazing musical line up, the local community of artists is coming together in support of the event, including famous painter Guthner Deix from the Outsider Gallery, who will be opening their doors for the weekend as well as donating a piece of art for the silent auction.
Much of the work at the festival is being done through volunteers and the musicians are mainly doing the gig gratis or at-cost. The significance and importance of this event is that it will help fire-affected communities, the NSW Rural Fire Service and Queanbeyan Wildcare in the aftermath of the bushfire disaster in NSW.
What To Expect
The family friendly event of entertainment spans the two days, January 24 and 25.
It will start with music entertainment on the Friday night. Saturday is where the party is at with a full day of live music running on two stages at the Captains Flat Hotel with a full day of live music, entertainment for the kids, great pub food, and local craft markets.
The festival organisers encourage music-lovers, families and friends to make a weekend of it! On Friday, setup camp, settle in and be ready to rock from 6pm and start a great weekend.
Camping
There are two free camping and van sites in Captains Flat, Winchester Park and Wilkinson's Oval, both only two minutes' walk from Raise The Fun Fest.
Show some love
With so many affected by droughts and fires like never before, the organisers want to show some love to the families impacted by these natural disasters and to the heroes putting themselves on the line fighting to protect people and wildlife.
You can donate a ticket to fire-affected families around the area that also supports fundraising for the NSW RFS and Wildcare Queanbeyan volunteers.
