DROUGHT ravaged parts of the region can expect to see some good rainfall in coming days, meteorologists say.

Rainfall in some locations is expected to start on Thursday, but for many it will start on Friday.
Lithgow looks set to be the wettest town in the region and could receive as much as 130 millimetres of rain by the end of the week.

Drought stricken Nyngan could also receive good falls this week, with an 80-90 per cent chance of up to 40mm falling each day on the weekend, and lighter falls before that.
Goulburn could receive 45mm of rain this week, while Dubbo, Parkes and Wellington could receive up to 40mm.
Around 35mm is expected in Forbes and Mudgee, while up to 30mm could fall in Bathurst and Oberon.
While 20-25mm of rain is predicted for the rest of this week in Cowra, Cootamundra, Orange and Young.
