Week 2 of 2020 was a bad week for bowls due to some very high temperatures, week 3 was a bad week due to flooding rain, go figure.

Social Triples saw 30 players on the green, which meant 4 games of Triples and 1 game of Pairs
The day was overcast but it was a good day for bowls. The overall winners on the day were Paul Johnson, Jason Albrighton and Harry Phelps with a margin of 30, Runners up were Russ Sheely, Greg Murphy and R Fredricks. Well done to everyone

Goulburn Rose Tournament
This year is the 25th Anniversary of the Goulburn Rose Tournament and 70th Anniversary of the Men's Bowls Club.
The Major Sponsors of the event this year will again be the Goulburn Mulwaree Council and the Gullen Range Wind Farm.
The Men's competition will be played on Thursday 20th and Friday 21st of February, presentations will be made on Friday afternoon at approximately 3.00pm by the Mayor and the Manager of Gullen Range Wind Farm. This year former Australian Champion Cameron Curtis will be entering a team so there should be some excellent bowls to watch.
The Ladies Competition will be on Saturday 22nd and Sunday 23rd of February with the presentations on Sunday afternoon at approximately 3.00pm and again the Mayor and the Manager of Gullen Range Wind Farm will do the presentations.

Southern Tablelands Zone Open Fours 04/02/2020
In an all-Goulburn final, played at Bowral Bowling Club, congratulations must go to the team of Mary Leslie, Jocilin Hayman, Ann Redhead and Dorothy Wilson. Mary's team won 28-15 over clubmates, Margaret Lawless, Denise Gosling, Joye McCullen and Karen Marshall.
Goulburn Post Bowls Goulburn Railway Women's Bowls Southern Tablelands Zone Senior Fours 04/02/2020 Congratulations to the team of Gillian Lumsden, Judith Cooke, Heather Thornton and Lorraine McNeill who were 21-13 winners over clubmates Lesley Thoms, Marie Thompson, Helan White and Cheryl Corby in an all-Goulburn Senior Fours Final match played at Bowral Bowling Club.

Single Stableford 06/02/2020
A hole in one at the 136-metres 8th hole by Mick Mulligan was the highlight of last Thursday's Single Stableford.
A field of 80 played with countbacks the order of the day.
Barry Christoff won the event over Mark Guthrie with both players carding 42 points.
3rd, 4th and 5th places were also decided by countback. Francis Harran defeated Steve Bunt and Aaron Bryant all players returning 41 points.
Nearest The Pin winners 8th, Mick Mulligan (ACE), he also won the cracker shot on the same hole, 11th sponsored by Bryant's Pies Scott Nolan 128cms and the 15th sponsored by Murray's Meats Dominic Falk only 20cms from the flag.
Last ball to Bill Skelly with 34 points on a countback.
Next Thursday the normal Single Stableford will take place, while on Saturday a 2-ball best ball with a Single Stableford held in conjunction.
Single Stableford 08/02/2020
A field of 55 took to the course on Saturday with James Callanan coming out on top with 41 points.
2nd spot on the day to Antony White who defeated Jono Gann on a countback both players carding 39 points
Nearest The Pin winners 8th Aaron Bryant who also collected the super shot prize and the 11th sponsored by Bryant's Pies Barry Christoff.
Players needed 32 points to win a ball.
Ladies Stroke 05/02/2020
Wednesday saw 37 ladies play the first round of GNSW and Club Medals. A Grade winner with the very good score of 66 nett was Wendy Stewart. Wendy also won the putting with 27 putts. B Grade to Maria Croker with 69 nett on a countback from Helen Peterson and C Grade winner Margaret Antony with 72 nett.
Nearest the pin on 11th Helen Crisp and 15th Di Armstrong. TBP Bakery drive and chip for C Grade on 4th to Rona Hope and Bakers Delight on 17th Dawn Bodel. Cracker shot winner on the 8th went to Vicki Scarfi.
Ball competition went to 75 nett on a countback.
Next Wednesday is Open day with a shot-gun start at 8.30am.
Cost for day is $40 which includes lunch.
Ladies are reminded to please bring a slice.
Ladies Stableford 08/02/2020
In wet conditions on Saturday seven ladies contested an 18-hole Stableford. Mel Callanan was the winner with the good score of 37 points. RSL Cross holes voucher winner Lyn Lissa with 9 points on a countback from Mel. Ball winners were Mel Callanan 37 points, Lyn Lissa 35 points and Ann Ridley 30 points.
Next Saturday ladies will play an 18-hole Stroke event.

Junior Pennants 09/02/2020
All players are to take note that the new world handicap system is now in place, so please check your adjusted handicaps.
In a wet first round of Pennants for the Belconnen-Tully Park team Rheannah Webb won her match 2 up and 1 to play, while Ned Slater won his 4 up with 3 to play helping the team to a 3.5 to 2.5 win over Royal Canberra. The next Pennants round sees the Belconnen-Tully Park team playing against Federal.
Goulburn Soldiers Club 12-hole Comp
The new handicap system hasn't slowed Alan McDonald down as he returned 28 points for the Goulburn Soldiers 12-hole competition last week. With a big field of 41 starters a recent return to golf for Nicole Minney saw her take a tied second placing on 26 along with John Blair, Wayne James and Brian Larkin. Wayne Minney Elsey Slater, Ron Nunn and Chris Ryan all had 25 while Mark Berrisford and Chris Elliott scored 24. Concluding the rundown were Ratna Rankmore, John Peterson and Russell Schmitt on 23, and on countback Ned Slater and Stephen Rigby on 22.
Slater Drafting Par 3
Michelle Sullivan finished with a nett 19 to win the $25 voucher from Slater Drafting. Justin Granger played well for his nett 23 and Ned Slater was close behind on 24.
The next Par 3 is on Saturday March 14.
Juniors
The Tully Park juniors are on this Saturday February 15 from 8.30-10am.
