This year's theme 'Love to Celebrate' rang true at the launch of the Goulburn Seniors Festival. The vibe was infectious and even Angus Taylor MP couldn't resist joining in for a jig during the hokey pokey.

The annual festival celebrates the valuable contribution of seniors in the community and promotes active involvement with a range of activities planned for the week .
The Seniors Festival kicked off on Monday, February 17 at the Goulburn Worker's Club. Mayor Bob Kirke officially launched Seniors Week 2020 with Angus Taylor MP, Wendy Tuckerman and other important guests present.
Taking out the coveted Senior of the Year award was Colleen Cooper. Mrs Cooper received the award for her volunteer work at the Day Out Society, Vinnies, the Goulburn Workers Club and more. She was recently awarded a life membership with the CWA for her dedication.
MC Jim Styles said Colleen had a heart of gold and had rallied to get troops and food to support the local RFS during the fires.
Mrs Cooper said she volunteered and does the things she does because she wants to.
Runners-up for Senior of the Year were Bob Stephens and Julia McKay.

In an address to attendees, Mr Taylor said what mattered to him about seniors across the electorate was the contributions they all made to the community.
"As I look out into the audience I see people who are volunteering in a whole range of areas to contribute to the community.
"So many people at retirement now are playing such a big role in our community and we need to celebrate that everyday."
Ms Tuckerman challenged attendees to bring someone along who doesn't usually go to events to get them out and about.
In an emotional address, WIRES member Margaret Clinton brought the audience to tears with a speech about the impact of recent bushfires on native wildlife.
The launch also included an enthusiastic performance by the Dancing for Wellbeing Group. The group led a spirited dance to three songs including the hokey pokey - no one was immune to the infectious music with everyone joining in.
The week was organised by Goulburn Mulwaree Council and U3A Goulburn and runs until Sunday, February 23.
