There were over 20 very colourful performance groups on stage, including the Samoan dancers and drums, the Chinese lion and lion cubs, the Greek Hellenic dancers and dance troupes from Indonesia, Chile, Philippines, India Bollywood, Nepal, Cook Islands as well as a variety of food and market stalls.
Cr Alfie Walker also welcomed everyone to country with a moving smoke ceremony.
Thanks for the tremendous support of Goulburn Mulwaree Council and staff who did so much to make the festival a great success.
Thanks also to Lilac Festival Committee for the variety of market stalls.
Our next big event is Harmony Day in the Park on Friday, March 20, from 11am-1pm at Belmore Park.
There will be lots of cultural performances, including from schools and local communities, as well as free food.
The message of Harmony Day is 'everyone belongs' and invites everyone to join in the community celebration, respect cultural and religious diversity and foster a sense of belonging for everyone.
Held every year in March, Harmony Day coincides with the United Nations International Day for the Elimination of Racial Discrimination.
You can choose to wear something orange to show support for cultural diversity and an inclusive Australia.
However please drop by Belmore Park in your non-orange casuals or business clothes during your lunch break. We would love you to come as you are.
