Turbines and wind farm equipment will be delivered from Port Kembla to Biala Wind Farm early each morning between 6am and 9am.

From Goulburn, the transports carrying the equipment will travel along the Crookwell-Goulburn Road, turning left at Grange Road, then right at Cullen Street, left at Kialla Road then right at Range Road at left at Grabben Gullen Road to proceed to the site.

In all, there will be approximately 350 components delivered over a five to six-month period using specialist trucks. The wind farm, planned by BJCE Australia, will have 31 turbines.

Arrangements have been made with Roads and Maritime Services, the Upper Lachlan Shire Council and NSW Police, who escort the larger deliveries.

The longest deliveries will be the wind turbine blades. The blades themselves are 68.7 metres long and the full length of their transport is 78 metres.

Deliveries will continue daily from Monday to Saturday each week.

Delays to road users may be experienced in Goulburn between 5:30am and 6am and between Goulburn and the wind farm from 6:00am to 9:00am whilst the components are being transported. The timeframe is subject to change depending on final arrangements and local conditions on the day.

In Goulburn, the trucks will emerge on to Hume Street, then Clinton, Deccan and Fitzroy Streets before travelling the Crookwell Road.

For people who live on, or are using the roads on the delivery route, a free text messaging service is available which provides up to date information regarding wind turbine deliveries and other wind farm activities that may cause inconvenience to road users.
