Alex Richard McDonald, 27, crashed into the fence in a black hatchback at 1.09am on March 5 while visiting Goulburn on a work contract.
He provided a written plea of guilty to Goulburn Local Court on March 25 and his matter was adjourned to May 6 at Armidale Local Court.
There were four other occupants in the vehicle, however, no one sustained injuries, officer-in-charge at Goulburn Police Station Inspector Matt Hinton said.
Inspector Hinton said McDonald was driving along Sloane Street in a northerly direction, came to the intersection at Clifford Street and lost control. The vehicle then hit the gutter in front of the station before mounting the footpath and colliding with the fence.
Police were swiftly on scene after hearing the crash, which caused about six metres of damage to the fence.
