To continue to provide essential waste services,Goulburn Mulwaree Council will make the following changes to waste services starting Thursday, April 2:
- Tarago Waste Management Centre will only be open from 8am to 11am on Thursday and Saturday mornings only.
- Marulan Waste Management Centre will only be open from 12.30pm to 4pm on Thursday and Saturday afternoons only.
- Goulburn Waste Management Centre will be closed to the public each Monday, Thursday and Sunday. The centre will be open to the public on Tuesday, Wednesday, Friday and Saturday from 8am to 2pm.
"The changes are designed to ensure we can continue to provide essential waste services at this time while also putting in place measures to better protect our staff and the public," mayor Bob Kirk said.
"We have realigned our waste team, who will now work split shifts to ensure decontamination can occur between staff changeovers. These measures are designed to help ensure we can continue to provide all waste services, including collections, at this difficult time. The three bin domestic waste collections are currently not affected and will continue as usual until further notice.
"We thank everyone in our community for the support and understanding that has been demonstrated as the council responds to the impacts of COVID-19."
