The Wangaratta businessman, who is played by actor Stephen Peacocke in Channel Nine's Informer 3838, said he was "concerned" going into the first episode on Monday night.
"To be honest I am quite happy with the first episode," he told The Border Mail.
"I am so used to being portrayed as this crooked cop but I think it was pretty good.
"I knew it was happening for quite a while and that was really concerning, like it was just another thing that dragged this whole saga on."
The first episode follows a young Nicola Gobbo on her path to becoming one of the highest profile lawyers during the Melbourne gangland war right up until Dale's initial arrest for a drug burglary and the deaths of police informer Terrence Hodson and his wife Christine.
"I think they got most things right," Dale said.
"But there are little things like when Nicola came to meet me in prison, I was never in a room with other prisoners, that always happened in private.
"And the scene where I meet Carl Williams in a massage parlour is definitely not true."
Dale said the mini-series is bringing up old memories but he is looking forward to how the second episode will play out next week.
"I will be a little but more relaxed next week I think," he said.
"But it is just another day in the life of Paul Dale I guess."
- The second episode airs on Channel Nine at 8.40pm on Monday.
