So a half hour of virtual interaction that includes a story time, a bit of music, dancing and games could be just what the coronavirus doctor ordered.

Enter Vanessa Shipway, 14, of Goulburn.

A performing arts student with a passion for kids and future hopes of primary school teaching, Vanessa is offering a free online program for three to six year-olds, to keep the kids entertained during the long days of isolation.

Vanessa advertised her service - Virtual Kids World - on the Goulburn Community Notice Board Facebook page on Wednesday, and was pleasantly surprised by the result.

"I had 50 likes on my page and 10 children signed up by mid-afternoon," she said.

Vanessa has been studying the performing arts at Dance Stars Academy in Canberra, where she began teaching little ones a few years ago.

She loves building relationships with the children and making them smile.

"Getting to know them and having fun with them is what I like best," said Vanessa.

She has offered the service for free because she wants to "give back to the community", though she suggests donating to the Starlight Children's Foundation if people want to express their gratitude.
