Delle has Alzheimer's disease, and has been in dementia care at Tenison Residential Aged Care in Goulburn for over three years.
Her daughter, Deb Thomas, lives too far away to visit with a cake and balloons on the special day, so she was delighted when staff at Tenison made a big effort to celebrate the day.
"I want to publicly thank and bring to light the truly amazing staff at Tenison aged facility in Goulburn," said Deb in a letter to the Goulburn Post.
"In these crazy times I am especially thankful for them.
"Lockdown of the facility started at least a week before others in the media, and I was fully supportive, having stayed away myself for a few weeks before that, just in case.
"But yesterday was Mum's 82nd birthday, and - not living locally myself - I was unable to deliver a cake, so staff went out of their way to make the day special.
"She has Alzheimers, I am sure she felt loved even if she won't remember."
She wanted to make a special shout out to Kellie for the cake, and Michelle, the 'lifestyle guru'.
"I hope they know what peace of mind they bring the family, knowing Mum is in such good hands with people who truly care," said Deb.
"Goulburn should be aware of good news stories surrounding aged care, and now more than ever."
