The Goulburn Post was contacted in lead up to Anzac Day by Annette Buchanan, who wanted to know if someone recognised the soldier in a photo found among her mother's belongings.
"We were interested to know if you could publish the enclosed photo of a mystery soldier, believed to be a local identity, possibly from the Taralga area," said Mrs Buchanan.
"Mum's maiden name was Marmont, a well known Taralga family, which is why we think this soldier was from there."
If the face rings a bell, please contact: Mrs Annette Buchanan, 145 Lambrigg Street, Farrer, ACT; phone 6286 3041; email annettebuchanan6@gmail.com.
