More than three months since the club closed indefinitely due to the COVID-19 lockdowns, the GTTC's eager players will be rewarded for their patience.
Lockdown restrictions were eased earlier this month, meaning indoor recreation centres, such as table tennis clubs, were able to open again from the 13th.
The Goulburn club moved quickly to ensure it could safely open as soon as possible, and announced last Thursday on Facebook that it would open again on Monday.
"Everybody's been champing at the bit to get going and have really missed the table tennis," Fraser said.
"A lot of them played two or three times a week, so it's been a massive gap in their social and sporting time."
Though its doors will be open once more, the club will not immediately return to competition.
From Monday, training and social play will return while the club adheres to the remaining restrictions.
"We're going to start slowly with a training and social play so we're being compliant with safety and health regulations," Fraser said.
"Everybody's really happy and looking forward to it."
As is the case for most sporting clubs affected by the coronavirus lockdowns, the GTTC took a financial blow due to its lack of income.
However, the impact felt by the club was lessened thanks to a last-minute sponsor who came on board.
"It has cost the club money, being closed down," Fraser said.
"We're not a profit-making venture, but members do pay for competition which brings a little bit in. We've still got expenses with rent and electricity.
"We were very fortunate. We've had support from local hardware store, we approached them to see if they'd sponsor us or help us set up for the expense of the restrictions. We're very grateful and appreciative."
The club will reopen on Monday, June 29. A Grade players will be able to train on Monday nights, while B Grade players can resume training on Wednesday nights, and the club is open to all players for social play on Friday nights.
Fraser encouraged interested in trying out the sport to come along on a Friday night.
"We're happy for new members to come up, have a look and have a game," she said. "We're there for the community and welcome anybody."
